The SEENERGY picture frame is not just a disruptive way of re-using solar power, but it’s also an art piece on its own. With a fully customizable pattern of the the dye-sensitised solar cells  (DSSC) , every opanel is unique and all harvest solar energy, that is stored in concealed batteries located in the frame of the art piece. These batteries are used to power up a LED strip that provides backlight, illuminating the wall around the frame and the art piece itself without need for an external power supply. Through a sensor that reads the light intensity of the space, there is an adjustment of the energy used. More than the transparency of the cells, this piece aims at showcasing how customizable and efficient the cells are.
